Privacy + Terms
Last updated: 24 June 2026
This page explains how PDF Form Filler handles privacy, and the basic terms for using the website, app and Business Licence.
Privacy Policy
1. Who operates this website
PDF Form Filler is a BuildAI.nz project operated by Nik Janetzke. Contact: [email protected] or +64 9 242 3369.
This page is written for general transparency and practical business use. It is not legal advice.
2. How the PDF editor works
The editor runs in your web browser using client-side PDF processing code. When you choose a PDF, the browser reads the file locally so you can add text, marks, highlights, whiteout areas, images or signatures, then save/download an edited copy.
We do not intentionally collect or transmit your original PDF, edited PDF, PDF filename, form text, signatures, annotations, or document contents.
3. Usage statistics
We count privacy-safe product events such as homepage views, app opens, PDF opens, PDF saves, blog views, About page views, CTA clicks, BuildAI.nz clicks, newsletter signups and licence activation events. These are aggregate counts for product improvement. They do not include PDF contents, filenames, form text or signatures.
4. Technical logs and hosting
Like most websites, hosting and security providers may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested URL, timestamps and diagnostic/security information. We use Cloudflare Pages/CDN and related infrastructure for hosting, DNS, security and performance.
5. Email, newsletter and payments
If you join the optional update list or email us, we receive the information you choose to send. If you buy a Business Licence, payment is handled by PayPal or another payment provider. We do not collect or store full card details ourselves.
6. Data retention
Because PDF files are not uploaded to us, we do not retain copies of your PDFs or completed forms. Aggregate analytics, technical logs, newsletter records, licence records and email enquiries may be retained as reasonably needed for support, security, operations and legal obligations.
Terms of Use
1. Use of the tool
You may use PDF Form Filler to open, annotate and save PDF documents in your browser. You are responsible for checking the completed PDF before sending, submitting, signing, relying on, or using it for legal, tax, medical, government, employment, tenancy, commercial or other important purposes.
2. No professional advice
PDF Form Filler is a document editing utility. It does not provide legal, financial, tax, medical, immigration or other professional advice. If a document is important, get appropriate advice before relying on it.
3. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the tool useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, compatibility with every PDF, or permanent availability of any free feature. We may change, improve, limit or remove features over time.
4. Your documents and responsibility
The editor is designed so your PDFs stay on your device. You remain responsible for your own files, backups, document accuracy, signatures, permissions, and any consequences of using or submitting edited documents.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the site to attack, overload, reverse engineer, abuse, scrape at scale, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure. Do not use it for unlawful activity.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, PDF Form Filler and BuildAI.nz are not liable for loss, damage, missed deadlines, rejected forms, data loss, business interruption, or other consequences arising from use of the tool. Use it at your own judgement and verify outputs carefully.
7. Business Licence
The Business Licence is a one-time licence for workplace, client, office or commercial use. It covers up to 3 people in the same business and includes priority email support. It is not a guarantee that every PDF will work perfectly, and it does not create a custom development, legal review or guaranteed turnaround obligation unless separately agreed in writing.
8. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms is intended to limit rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law, including relevant New Zealand consumer law where it applies.
9. Updates to this page
We may update this Privacy + Terms page as the product changes. The updated date at the top shows the latest version.
